Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Troop 980 Flea Market originally scheduled for April 25, 2020 has been postponed.   We hope to have more details soon.   Thank you for your support of Troop 980, and please stay safe.

Boy Scout Troop 980 (Springfield, VA) will hold our 39th annual Flea Market on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the Rolling Valley Park and Ride. This event is advertised on Craigslist, plus a mailing list, flyers, and roadside signs.

How do I reserve my spaces?

You can reserve spaces by calling (703) 354-7045. We will take down your name and address, and how many spaces you want, and will give you instructions on where to send your payment. Spaces may also be available on the day of the sale at higher cost (see above) on a cash only, as-available, first-come first-served basis.

How are spaces assigned?

We assign spaces in advance of the sale, as payment is received. We do our best to honor requests for location and/or space grouping, but the best way to be sure you get the spaces you want is by getting your payment in as soon as possible.

Where do I park my vehicle?

Sellers may park their vehicle(s) within the spaces they purchase or outside the sale area. Shoppers must park outside the sale area.

How do I check in?

Sellers must check in at the Troop 980 booth prior to setting up. For pre-paid sellers, we will have a large chart showing your assigned space numbers. Please initial by your name so we know you have arrived, and then you can go set up. Scouts will be available to help you find your spaces if needed. Non pre-paid sellers will need to take a ticket, and we will take your cash and assign your spaces in the order you arrive. Any pre-paid seller who has not checked by 8:30 AM may have their spaces resold.

Where do I get coffee, and what about lunch?

Fear not, Troop 980 will once again have a food booth, where we sell piping-hot coffee, tasty donuts, ice-cold sodas, refreshing bottled water, hunger-stopping chips, and (starting about 10:30 AM) our famous hot-off-the-grill hot dogs.

What happens when the sale is over?

The sale is over at 3:00 PM. Sellers are required to be packed up and have vacated the lot by 4:00 PM. Sellers are to remove their own trash. Do not leave trash or unsold items on the lot.

What happens if it rains?

Our rain date is May 2, 2020. Same location, same hours. In the event of inclement weather, we will make a decision by 7:00 AM if we will continue or move to the rain date. Any information regarding postponement of the event will be posted on this site by 7:15 AM.

Can I get a refund if I pay and then can't come?

Yes. We honor all requests for refunds. In addition, in the event that we are rained out on the 25th, any pre-paid seller unable to make the rain date of May 2 will be granted a refund upon request.

How do I get on your mailing list?

Anyone purchasing spaces for this year's sale will automatically receive a flyer in the mail in advance of next year's sale. If you can't make it this year but would like a flyer for next year, please drop us an email or give us a call at the number listed above.

Do you have a printable flyer that I can give to all my friends?

Yes! See the "attachments" section below for a PDF version of our flyer.

We thank all sellers and buyers for their support of our Flea Market. All of the money we raise goes to support scouting programs in Troop 980. If you have any additional questions or comments, please contact us at bsatroop980@gmail.com
