Parent/Family Support in Scouting
1. Volunteer – Everybody seems to want his/her daughter in a strong troop. A scout troop is run 100% by volunteers. The expectation is that each and every family formally support/participate in some fashion. This can range from becoming a uniformed leader, assisting in fund-raising, helping with camp-outs or outings, or participating in badge work. Please contact any of the troop leader's for current needs.
2. Transportation – We will not transport scouts without safe seating and seatbelts. Every activity or camp-out/outing requires sufficient transportation for both adults and girls. As each event is scheduled we will ask for help in driving to and from.
3. Calendar – Please check the website for calendar information. It will be updated to show meeting dates, deadline dates, and fund raising.
4. Advancement – From our experience, much like school, the scouts with strong advancement records tend to have parent involvement. Advancement is a collaborative effort between scout, troop and parent.
5. Ask for Help – We never want a scout to miss an activity due to lack of funds or lack of information. If you have a question or need, please ask.
6. Meetings- Be on time, if dropping off please pick up child on time. If staying and have siblings staying with you please keep child from distracting the girls from any activity and keep them under control if not please be considerate and leave room so the others will not get distracted.
