About Pack 2228

Pack 2228 is based in (Quail Valley) Menifee, California and is chartered by The Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2228. Established February 2017, and actively recruit boys at Quail Valley Elementary School, Herk Bouris Elementary School, and the surrounding neighborhoods of Quail Valley, Menifee, Sun City, Audie Murphy Ranch, Canyon Lake, and Canyon Hills. However, we accept boys from any school and any neighborhood; if you want to be part of Pack 2228 you are welcome here!

Our pack is run entirely by volunteers. We cannot offer our successful program without the help of your family! Parents, leaders, and boys have fun together as we achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.

Pack 2228 is part of the Tahquitz District of the California Inland Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Scout Law Point of the Month

SEPTEMBER - A SCOUT IS TRUSTWORTHY!

Trust·wor·thy

'tr?s(t)?w?rT?He/

adjective

  1. able to be relied on as honest or truthful."leave a spare key with a trustworthy neighbor"
synonyms: reliabledependablehonesthonorableuprightprincipledtruetruthful, as good as one's word, ethicalvirtuousincorruptibleunimpeachable, above suspicion; More

The Scout Law says:

A Scout is trustworthy. A Scout tells the truth. He is honest, and he keeps his promises. People can depend on him.

We all know the story of Pinocchio, the little boy whose nose grew every time he told a lie. It’s a good thing our noses don’t grow whenever we fib, or it would be a lot more difficult to move around in a crowded room.

It’s not our nose that grows when we don’t tell the truth. It’s our honor that shrinks when we are not honest when we don’t keep our promises.

It’s not always easy to keep your word. It takes a big man to get up early to help out your fellow Scouts on a service project or go out in the cold to compete in the Klondike Derby.

But eventually, people will figure out if you are somebody they can rely on. Who would you rather trust? A guy who’s honor is the size of Paul Bunyan, or Pinnochio?
