Explore New Worlds as a Family

Cub Scouting is all about exploration. It is a structured way for families to explore new places, learn new things, and spend quality time together. This structured environment will give your boy the opportunity to gain leadership experience while developing a life-long bond with a group of boys his own age. Scouting emphasizes team projects, community service, conservation, citizenship, spirituality, and responsibility.

We do every activity with the Cub Scout Motto in mind - Do Your Best.

Fun Activities

Pinewood Derby

The Pinewood Derby is the competitive highlight of the year for many Cub Scouts (and their families). Boys build
their own derby cars and race them against each other at pack and district competitions.

Camping

We usually camp twice each year as a pack. Pack 9 also camps at some of the Council events that occur throughout the year. Get outside and enjoy the great outdoors with the whole family! Webelos have the opportunity to camp more often than the younger boys.

Cub-O

This is one of the largest orienteering events in North America. The boys use a map and compass to locate a series of orienteering flags while competing against other teams for the high score. A great adventure!

About Pack 9

Cub Scout Pack 9

Pack 9, founded in 1950, is one of the premiere Cub Scout packs in the Fort Worth area. We have a long history with over 60 years of delivering the Adventure of Scouting to boys.

Pack 9 meets at University United Methodist Church which is located in the TCU area. Most meetings take place on Monday nights and last one hour, or a little more. The boy’s achievements are recognized during the Pack meetings and parents receive an update on upcoming events and opportunities.

Age-based dens hold additional meetings outside of the Pack meeting. Den meetings include games, crafts, and activities focused on advancement.

Our pack is known as an active pack. We camp as a group several times each year, attend orienteering events, perform community service, and work on conservation projects.
