TROOP 255
NEWARK DELAWARE

Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 255!

Our Troop has been operating for over 55 years in the DELMARVA Council.  We offer a great opportunity for boys to learn life changing skills, build lifelong friendships, and have the best time of their life along the way.  Any boy between the ages of 11 and 17 is welcome to join us.  We are chartered by Newark United Methodist Church and meet on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.  Newark United Methodist Church is located at 69 East Main street, Newark Delaware 19711.

Troop 255 is an active Troop participating in monthly camping trips as well as service projects and community activities.  In addition, Troop 255 offers a varied program with many Merit Badge Counselors available in the Troop including most of the Eagle required merit badges.  Scouts from Troop 255 have participated in the 100th Anniversary of Scouting Jamboree that occurred in the summer of 2010, Scouts have attended all three of the National High Adventure programs at the Florida Sea Base, Northern Tier and Double H Scout Reservation at Philmont.  The Troop offers an opportunity to explore activities that Scouts might not otherwise experience including an annual Ski Trip, rifle shooting, archery, fire building, first aid, caving, cooking and hiking.  Each year the Troop leadership, including the Scout leaders and the adult leaders, strive to find new activities for the Scouts to experience.  In addition, Troop 255 will provide a Scout with an opportunity to advance through the Scout ranks so that a Scout who is motivated to become an Eagle Scout will have an opportunity to add to the more than 100 Eagle Scouts who have come from our combined Troops, 255, 250 & 316.  We invite you to visit a Troop meeting and learn more about the Troop.  Please contact us today for more information; you'll be glad you did.
