Cub Scout Pack 463 is based in New Richmond, WI, supports the surrounding areas (although most of our boys attend Hillside, Paperjack, Starr, and St. Mary's schools), and provides an exciting program for boys aged 5 through 11.  We are members of the Eagle River District in the Northern Star Council.  Pack 463 is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club.  Pack meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month and den meetings vary by leader availability.

Welcome to Cub Pack 463

Website/Communications:

This site hosts our pack website. The majority of the information you will need to stay active in our pack will be posted and/or sent to you via email from this site once you have become a registered member of our pack.

Ranks:

Kindergarten - Lions, 1st grade - Tigers, 2nd grade - Wolves, 3rd grade - Bears, 4th & 5th grade - Webelos

Events:

All PACK events are listed on the event calendar on the website. Den events are scheduled by your leader ~ some dens post on the website while others do not. Please be sure to talk with your den leader for information on upcoming den activities.

Attire:

  • Class A uniform: This is the official cub scout shirt and neckerchief.  You will be responsible for purchasing your shirt as well as your first neckerchief and handbook. Subsequent neckerchiefs and handbooks will be provided by the pack. If this proves to be a hardship for you, please speak with the cubmaster.

  • Class B uniform: Pack T-shirts are considered class B uniforms and are completely optional! If you are interested, please speak with a committee member.

  • Casual Clothing: This is your everyday wardrobe.

Parental involvement:

Scouting is a family activity. Many activities in the handbook can be completed at home with the help of an involved parent. At least one parent is expected to attend meetings with the boys, especially at the younger levels. Lion, tiger, and wolf scouts must have an adult in attendance at each event.

Den Leaders:

Den leaders are a very important part of scouting! Without leaders, dens tend to lose interest and fall apart. Any newly forming dens will need parents who are willing to step forward. The committee is available and willing to provide as much support as you may need. Please consider becoming a leader for your boy's den.

Committee Members:

The pack committee is comprised of interested and involved parents who have stepped forward to make sure scouting is available for the youth of our community. Any parent who wishes to be involved is invited to attend the committee meetings. These meetings are held at First Lutheran Church on Cty. Rd. K on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. It is a time for leaders to discuss upcoming events, share information from district roundtable meetings, plan upcoming pack meetings, and learn about training opportunities. Please feel free to join the committee even if you are unavailable to be a leader.

The Cub Scout motto is "Do Your Best" and everything is designed to have boys doing things. The aims of Cub Scouting are physical fitness, character development, and citizenship.  If you ask a boy, however, he’ll seldom offer these reasons for being a Cub Scout.  Boys have one primary reason to join Cub Scouts, and that’s to have FUN!  Our Pack has a program that provides boys (and their families) a lot of fun!

Our Pack is divided into dens and patrols, which are groups of boys of the same age.  Dens and patrols participate in age-appropriate activities under the direction of adult volunteers.  The dens and patrols typically get together once or twice a month for meetings or activities, where they learn Scouting skills, participate in outdoor activities, take field trips, make friends, earn awards and recognition, do arts and crafts, play games, and do cool stuff at home with family.

Once a month all the dens and patrols meet together for a Pack meeting.  These meetings are for the whole family, and include presentation of awards and advancements that the Scouts have earned, plus songs, skits, flag ceremonies, and other fun activities.  The Pack also organizes  special events and camp outs.

Pack 463 Mission

The committee and leaders of Cub Scout Pack 463 are committed to providing a quality, year-round program of Cub Scouting activities.  Special emphasis is placed on character development, citizenship, and family.
