What is Cub Scouting?

Cub Scouting is fun! No matter what grade your son is in, kindergarten through fifth, it will be a blast. Does he like to learn by doing? This is just the place. He can learn to tie knots, set up a tent, or shoot a bow and arrow. Has he ever cooked a meal on a campfire? Sent a secret code to a buddy? Built a birdhouse? Hiked? He can learn how to do all of these things and earn rewards for doing them in Cub Scouts.

A Sense of Belonging

As a Cub Scout, your son will be part of Pack 101.  Our pack is divided into smaller groups called dens. Each den has about six to eight boys. All of the Cub Scouts in his den will be in the same grade and may even go to the same school. Cub Scout Pack 101 is sponsored by Mandarin Lutheran Church.  Typically, our dens meet there on Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 8:00 PM during the school year, with the entire pack coming together once a month.  We plan activities throughout the year to support the purposes of Cub Scouting and to help promote the overall aims of Scouting:

  • develop a boy’s character,
  • train him in good citizenship,
  • and encourage him to become more fit—physically, mentally, and morally.

Purpose
