For Older Scouts...

Once you've done summer camp a few times, you might be wondering if that's all there is.
Surprise! Not by a long shot...in fact, the adventure is just beginning! You have to "pay your dues" so to speak--work diligently to learn the basics so you can go out and really enjoy the ride!

For older Scouts, there are a couple of opportunities that aren't available for younger Scouts: high adventure & service. And as much fun as Philmont or the Northern Tier can be, nothing is as satisfying as serving others. Scouting opens up all kinds of doors for both. Check 'em out!

High Adventure

"High adventure." What images do these words conjure up in your mind? Tall mountains? Tall ships? Scuba or snorkling? Fresh lake trout for breakfast? How about climbing & rappelling from those mountains? Maybe the Appalachian Trail? Or Pacific Crest Trail? What about mountain biking?

The real limits to high adventure is your imagination. Some might think money would be a bigger consideration; there are ways to handle that--and that is part of the adventure too.

All too many folks believe that the "Big Three" are the only high adventure bases in Scouting. Not at all! OK--they are the only three National Council bases. Nation-wide, however, there are nearly 100 officially approved BSA High Adventure bases! (97 by my count)

Here are just a couple to prime your imaginative pump...

But Wait! There's More!

And if you order in the next 15 minutes, we'll add the Ginsu pocket knives!

Making it to Eagle isn't the only thing available to you as you get older. There are a number of service adventures you can pursue...
