Best Scout

Best Scout

Competition will be based on most points earned during the competition. A competition sheet will be published at the preceding Fall Camporee so that all competitors will have a minimum of 4 to 6 months to prepare.

Best Scout is a marathon style multi-event Scout skills competition held only during the Spring Camporee/Bi-annual Scout Show. Competition begins at 10:00 pm on Friday and runs through Saturday to approximately 4:00PM. Competition events will be published and distributed at the District Fall Camporee. Each troop may submit one candidate for every 15 Scouts registered or fraction there-of plus prior Best Scout. Each troop should have a Scout coach assigned to its entrants for encouragement and to facilitate transition from event to event.  (The schedule will include a minimum of 6 hours of sleep Friday night and small breaks for rest and snacks on Saturday.) We will find the Best Scout of the Year. Scouts not reaching cut-off times will be eliminated from further competition for this Camporee in order to provide safety and control for the remainder of the event. A separate entry fee will be charged.
