Adult Volunteers
It Takes a Team to Run a Pack
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE think about how you can help our Pack. The
best way to insure that your son has a great and rewarding experience as
a Cub Scout is to be involved.
A great Scouting program is possible only by the many volunteers that
give a little bit of their time and together, can make a great impact on
our Scouts. Please consider helping out the needs of our Pack by
holding a regular leadership position or helping out with special
events! Any of these positions can be filled by a male or female.
We
all want our boys to have the best Cub Scout experience. We want fun
Den and Pack Meetings. We want great outings such as camping, going to
the battleship, baseball games, and so many other fun things we could
do as not just a Pack, but with our families. In order for our Pack to
be able to do more than just the basics, we need not just your Scout
but you too!
Please don’t be
intimidated by the thought of volunteering as you would not be in it
alone. Some jobs really don’t require much of your time and you can do
from the comforts of your own home. I won’t lie some positions are
more involved, but very rewarding. Grab a buddy and share a job.
Can’t volunteer for a “regular function”, don’t worry there is still a
place for you to help out! Volunteer
to help at one of our big Pack Events (Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold,
Pack Meeting, and if someone steps up possibly the Raingutter
Ragatta). Let us know that too!
Our current needs or positions that will be open next year are as follows:
Camping Coordinator: We have a
fall and a spring camping trip. This requires going to a couple of
meetings prior to each trip, making sure medical forms and other
paperwork are submitted and information is sent to all campers.
Chartered Organization Representative - Coordinate with our
chartered organization (McGinn PTA) and the Pack to get fliers approved
for distribution and information in the McGinn dispatch.
Committee Members: Don't have time to be a leader, but want to help the Pack. This is an official Cub Scout position.
***Committee members could plan more outings, to ball games,
sleep-overs at Liberty Science Center etc. There are many more things we
could do as a pack with a few more hands.
Fundraising - A pack needs money to cover expenses and events, help coordinate a fundraiser with the Cubmaster and Committee Members
Pinewood Derby: There is much to be done for a
successful event. We not only need someone to coordinate the
volunteers, but volunteers to help run the event.
Scouting for Food Drive: Help organize the Map for
the Food Drive and coordinate with local Boy Scout Troop. This job
requires someone with good organizational skills.
*** With the exception of the routes, most of the information does not
change year to year. No need to worry about reinventing the wheel.
School Facility Coordinator - Complete paperwork for use of McGinn facility usage for Den and Pack Meetings. Work with front office and Den Leaders
Please consider volunteering. Want to help out, but not sure what the best place for you is? Fill out the attached talent sheet and we will match your talents up with a needed job.
If you would like to talk about any ideas you have or any of the
above positions please call or email McGinnPack277@gmail.com.
