Our pack committee and leaders encourage all the boys to have a complete
Cub Scout uniform. We would like the boys to wear their uniform to all Pack Meetings and Cub Scout events as directed. The neckerchief and slide appropriate to rank is provided by the Pack.

Where do the "temporary patches" go?
-
Your cub scout will likely collect various patches from camps (such as Camp Trask, Polar Cub Camp, Camp Whitsett) and
scouting events (such as Pinewood Derby). These scout patches are
known as "temporary badges" or "temporary insignia." The BSA rules
state that one temporary patch may be worn at a time on the Class A
uniform: that patch is worn centered on the right pocket of the shirt,
or suspended from the right pocket button over the right pocket (in a
transparent patch holder which is available at the scout store).
However, there is an important exception to this rule for cubs scouts
and Webelos scouts, who are allowed to wear
TWO such temporary insignia items. If so, ONE must be the "Progress
Toward Ranks" fob (the plastic or leather item which hangs from the
right pocket and which has beads attached for Tiger, Wolf and Bear rank
to chart individual progress toward those ranks), OR the
"Webelos Compass Badge" (the cloth badge with four directional arrows
and the Webelos insignia which is suspended from the right pocket;
Webelos Cub Scouts wear a small arrowhead on this emblem after
completing five activity badges). In that case, the temporary badge
would be sewn directly on the right pocket, beneath either the Progress
Toward Ranks fob or Webelos Compass Badge. The other item can
be any temporary insignia item the scout chooses.

Another
acceptable option is to put the temporary patches on a brag vest or
patch jacket. You can get red felt "brag vests" inexpensively on eBay
or at the scout store, and you can put as many patches as you want on
there, and wear it over the Class A shirt.
