Family Scouting is the core of what Scouting America is and Troop 184 has embraced it wholeheartedly.  Troop 284 has one chartering organization in the Kiwanis Club of Copiague and has one committee representing both troops: there is one separate Scout Troop 284 of boys with their own Scoutmaster and one separate Scout Troop 284 of girls with their own Scoutmaster.  While under one chartering organization, this organizational breakdown will ensure the execution of the scouting tenets with the proper safeguards in place for all scouts.  Please see the attached pdf file below for a more detailed breakdown of the new Family Scouting approach of the Boy Scouts of America.
