Troop 132 is a troop with a strong history ofdeveloping boys into young men.  We seekto deliver Boy Scouting to our community via an active program that emphasizesfun, responsibility, and leadership development.  Weekly meetings provide opportunities forteamwork, games, rank advancement, and planning.  Monthly outings provide a wide range of bothindoor and outdoor experiences that encourage diverse learning opportunitiescoupled with lots of fun.

Having fun is a priority.  Boys take the lead on picking outings andjust some of the places and things we’ve done in the past few years include: climbingVia Ferrata, water and snow-tubing outings, canoe trips, backpacking, horsebackriding, rifle and shotgun outings, archery, caving trips, and many morethings.  We attend Ransburg ScoutReservation on Lake Monroe for summer camp each year, and participate in manyCamporees.  In addition to our usualmonthly outings we plan a “high adventure” trip each year.  In 2016, we had a group of boys attend SummitHigh Adventure in West Virginia. In 2017, the Scouts went canoeing and fishingfor a week in the Turtle Flambeau Flowage in Iron County, WI.

Our troop is not so big that young scouts getlost, but we are large enough so that we can effectively participate in a widerange of activities.  We emphasize a‘buddy’ process where younger scouts work and learn from older scouts.  This creates a bonding that allows theyounger boys to feel welcome and the older scouts to develop teaching andleadership skills.  First year Scoutsreceive guidance and leadership from dedicate First Year AssistantScoutmasters. All too soon the ‘younger’ boys have become the ‘older’ boys and,having learned from today’s role models, teach tomorrow’s new boys the skillsand traditions of Boy Scouting.  Thetroop has a Venture Crew of older boys and girls (14+) that plans additionalhigh adventure activities throughout the year.
